Recently saw a great advertisement of Honda. I liked the narration in the advertisement. It is "There is no point in having dreams, U should see dream." Honda has stated their philosophy "The Power of Dreams" in this just one line. And it’s very very true. A man should always see dream. Then only he can work to bring them into reality. Seriously there is no point in having dream. When you have dream, you just stop thinking beyond that point. You should see dream. I think even the great great industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani has said this thing. "See the dream". He was the perfect example what one man can do if he dreams. He built an empire from scratch. We just say there are no opportunities and all. But opportunities don't come your way. Opportunities are always going to be there. One just should have guts and should grab them without any fear. And that’s what Dhirubhai Ambani did. Sometimes I feel when we believe in God, god shows his presence by giving birth to great people like Dhirubhai Ambani.

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things"

These ar the lyrics of my favourite song from the all time classic TheSound of Music. Lyrics are very very simple still they had a great meaning. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. How simple things? We can see these things or some many other small but beatiful things in daily life and can enjoy their beauty. But we don't. A tendency of human being is always to run behind the big things. Once he gets the thing he desires, he start looking out for something bigger than that. And wastes the opportunity to enjoy the things which he had. But if he wishes on the line of the above song, he can live the life in a happy mood always.

"It's not our abilities that decide what we truly are........it's our choices" - Albus Dumbledore
A great quote from the Harry Potter book. The quote clearly shows where we are today. Most of the times we think I have done this. I'm here because I have this ability. But it’s not true. It’s a choice, which always matters, and not the ability. The choices we made change our life. And we walk on that path. Because unless and until we make choice we can not give the proper direction to our abilities. When we face failure we think that we lack the ability to have success in that thing. But actually the choice made was wrong and so the failure occurred. So a perfect human is the one who can make a correct choice and then can utilise his abilities to the fullest.

Mumbai Express. This is the name of Kamal Hasans' new film. Made in Hindi and Tamil. Kamal Hasan has written the screenplay as well as producing the film. Manisha Koirala, Om Puri and Saurabh Shukla accompany Kamal Hasan in the film.
The film is being marketed as an out and out comedy. Eagerly waiting for it. After all Kamal Hasan has delivered many hit comedies in the past. To name a few Chachi 420, Pushpak. And this time he again teams up with Singeetham Srinivasan, the director of Pushpak. So all Kamal Hasan fans can expect a fresh comedy from Mumbai Express. But we have to wait till Friday to have a ride of Mumbai Express.

BLACK

Last week I watched a critically acclaimed BLACK. Another different movie after SWADES. Black is a good movie. Great effort by the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sometimes he has concentrated more on technical wizardry but overall it’s an unusual experience for the viewer. Really it require guts to make such kind of film. I'll be not discussing the theme, story of the film here.
Dialogues play a major part in this film. They are simple yet very meaningful. And then we can easily relate them to our life. Dialogues from the scene when Michelle is interviewed for the admission to college are too good. She is asked 'Duniya mein kitne mahasagar hain?' Michelle answers "Pani ki har ek boond uske liye mahasagar hai". I found this dialogue very relevant to mindset of today's youth and the people of my age. The young, dynamic professionals. Michelle interprets every drop of water as oceans because she can’t see, hear. But it also shows that every human being should enjoy happiness from every little thing in this world. Michelle, instead of crying on why she can't see the oceans in the world, creates ocean out of a drop of water.
Another dialogue is when Michelle says "What knowledge mean to her?" She says "Knowledge is everything. Knowledge is teacher". I'm afraid today how many children can say this. Because everywhere I see most of the times students always complain about their teachers. Then they join private tutions and all. I think this is a failure of teachers. Yes, I do agree that students may be wrong somewhere. But finally if students are not going wrong then who is going to be? That’s why a good teacher is required to show a student a right path. But this is not happening.
The another great aspect of BLACK is the thorough study of blind and deaf people done by the director before venturing into making this movie. At least I didn't found any moment in BLACK, which has been shot without doing any study.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali shows that a good movie can be made on such a different subject. Before watching BLACK I was told that there is heavy dose of emotions and rona-dhona. But after watching BLACK I felt that at least there is some base to these emotions and rona-dhona. It’s better than those pathetic so called emotional scenes in films like Veer-Zaara.
I suggest that at least to promote such kind of movies everyone must watch BLACK once.

Finding Neverland

Yesterday, I watched a movie "Finding Neverland". Johnny Depp stars as Sir James Barrie, creator of all time classic Peter Pan. A film is about what inspired James Barrie to write peter pan. It’s an amazing movie. Director has done a fabulous job. Mainly Mr Barrie's character is great. He is a mature person but still there's a kid inside him who always dreams of a place called Neverland. And then Barrie meets Sylvia Llewelyn Davies (Kate Winslet) and her family and he writes the play Peter Pan based on this relationship. One great moment in the film is about the fairies. When first boy/girl was born and when he laughed for the first time, from his/her laugh fairy was born. And then onwards each time a new boy/girl is born, a first laugh becomes a fairy. That means we all are having a fairy with us. :)
A director' brilliance can be seen in one shot. In one scene James Barrie slightly opens a door to enter his room and we can see a very beautiful place (Neverland). In this one scene director shows how passionately Barrie imagines about Neverland. A must watch movie.

Lagaan

Yesterday I again watched Lagaan. And again got stunned by the sheer hard work put in by the entire crew and especially by the director Ashutosh Gowariker. Lagaan is like text book of movie making. Its a great example of a good screenplay writing. And if one concentrates on a screenplay then how much life get easier at the time of actual making. It shows that till what detail gowariker has put his thoughts on the paper. I can not imagine when I say Lagaan itself is text book of movie making, what will be its script, screenplay and the entire research done by Ashutosh and his team of writers. I'm not a cricket fan but know some basic things about cricket. All these things have been incoporated in the movie. The dialogues by K. P. Saxena are very meaningful. Again full marks to Gowariker for detail characterization. Viewer can remeber each and every character. I still cannot imagine how the production of a such movie would have been managed by Aamir Khan and Gowariker. It shows that hindi filmmakers can also do the pre-production in details as it is done in hollywood. Then only one can wrap the entire shooting in straight 4-5 months.
