Lagaan

Yesterday I again watched Lagaan. And again got stunned by the sheer hard work put in by the entire crew and especially by the director Ashutosh Gowariker. Lagaan is like text book of movie making. Its a great example of a good screenplay writing. And if one concentrates on a screenplay then how much life get easier at the time of actual making. It shows that till what detail gowariker has put his thoughts on the paper. I can not imagine when I say Lagaan itself is text book of movie making, what will be its script, screenplay and the entire research done by Ashutosh and his team of writers. I'm not a cricket fan but know some basic things about cricket. All these things have been incoporated in the movie. The dialogues by K. P. Saxena are very meaningful. Again full marks to Gowariker for detail characterization. Viewer can remeber each and every character. I still cannot imagine how the production of a such movie would have been managed by Aamir Khan and Gowariker. It shows that hindi filmmakers can also do the pre-production in details as it is done in hollywood. Then only one can wrap the entire shooting in straight 4-5 months.
